Okay, so basically, I managed to get my hands on a Monoprice 19" tablet monitor for a screaming good deal. It's basically a Cintiq...but a cheaper brand. I figured it'd be okay and give me a chance to improve upon things while I save up the $2300 needed for a real Cintiq.

...eh. NO.

The sensitivity levels were okay, but it often needed me to push harder with the pen to get half or three-quarter pressure level, and it sometimes didn't want to finish the lines at the very spot I had pressed and lifted. Also, the colours were just awful. They seemed washed out, and there was a horrible viewing angle that I never want to repeat. UGH. The top was practically negative colours (like when you see an older monitor from an odd angle), and the bottom was washed out. The pen squeaked against the monitor's screen occasionally (which irked me to no end), and I found it harder to use than a regular ol' Wacom tablet. PLUS, I'm sensitive to lights (flickers are a BIG no-no for me, since I can end up having a seizure-like attack from it), and the thing flickered a few times in front of my eyes. I can't look at it too long before my head hurts, either.

In the end, I contacted them and got them to put the order on return. I'll send it back for a full refund.

Sigh...I was hoping that it would be a lot better, but it wasn't. So, I'm a little upset about that whole thing and having to do the runaround now to get my refund. BUT, at least I got to TRY it (now I know it's terrible).

In other news, I got to my orientation for my art college!!!!!!!!!! :iconkermityayplz: I am SO happy! They just...they actually seem more like me than ANYWHERE I've ever met people (besides the interwebs, of course). I got to make some friends, hang out all day with artists who dream of jobs with their art, and even got to give myself a big ol' bruise on my arm from slipping on the bu--wait. Okay, that last part with my arm and the bus wasn't that great, but the rest ROCKED!

So, anyway, to those who have been helping me with life, college, and in general, thank-you for your help! It's been appreciated.

The Pokemon Destiny comic is on a small haitus while I get my schedule figured out for school. If I can make sure I have time, I can get a page out at LEAST once every two weeks (I'm HOPING once a week, but we shall see).
